Does your new baby come with rear disk brakes? Because I visited the basement storage today, and realized I still have a pair of never-used rear brake rotors and a set of pads for one type of the calipers used at the back of 505 sedans. Both sets are from EBC, so supposed to be pretty good quality.

Now the point of my buying these two (or maybe three) years ago was that i planned to convert to rear disks, even have an upright and a caliper from a junked 1982 STI. But these pulled parts were in such disrepair, the mechanic said i would be much better off if we just rebuilt the factory drums. I don't regret doing that one bit, but now i have these babies lying around. If you can use them i am good with you having them...

yup, rear discs. Where am I shipping them from, and do you want some money? I dont need them right away but any extra parts are cool!

Ok, now that i actually looked at shipping, this might not be that much of an idea. Anyhow, here it goes.

I'm in Budapest, Hungary, and the web calculator of the post says a tracked parcel of 15kg will take roughly $115 to get to a US address. There's DHL too, but their quote was like triple that, so now i'm not trusting the quote i got from the post - that much variation can't be right, right? And i couldn't get an online quote from the FedEx Hungarian page. Now that sum is roughly what i paid for the set IIRC but there's really not many people i could sell this to anyway, so i'm happy for you to have it, if the shipping costs aren't prohibitive.

Also, i haven't got a clue if the US customs want to get involved, what do you recon?

Now if you say this is all well and good, and most importantly, still cheaper than buying in the US, we should try to ascertain if this will fit your car. I think the rotors would, there was only one size available if memory serves me right. However, there are at least three different rear brake calipers on 505s, so the pads might not fit. Will check the Haynes manual in the evening to see which one i bought these for...
